If you're reading this, you've already accomplished the first step.
You've acknowledged
that there is a problem and are willing
to sort yourself out.
Well done!
I'll agree that I am at the same stage as you, while writing this.
Will we get to the other side
??
Firstly, take a deep breath.
Let it cleanse your soul.
Remember the words that you commonly use in a fit of anger
, especially towards your close ones.
Is there a phrase, sentence or action you find yourself repeating each time?
Think.
There will be something.
THIS "little something" is the key
to your freedom
.
Replace the sentences, words or actions in your head.
Chant this instead-
"I want to feel good about me at the end of this. I know that I must relax my muscles, breathe deeply and blank out mentally for a minute or two, so that I do not say/do things that I don't mean and don't want to. I AM in control
. I am taking deeper, longer breaths. I know that only I am most important to me in the long term. This is insignificant."
Try every technique in the book-
- Make a fist.
- Count backwards from 10 to 1, relaxing more and more with each number.
- Drink some cold water.
- Walk out of the room.
- Go for a brisk walk.
- Exercise. (You might as well use the anger to benefit your body!)
- Write in a diary and then tear away the pages into the tiniest fragments ever.
- Punch a pillow.
- Kick some dirt.
- Scream into an empty room.
- Clean out your closet.
- Listen to soothing music.
- Try dancing while you're at it. :)
The possibilities
are endless.
The source is you.
Feel good.
Build the bridge and be sure to cross it.
You Can!
